Picture this – a boat ride from Krabi, Phuket, Koh Lanta, or Langkawi, leading to Ko Lipe’s crystalline blue waters and powdery white sands. This petite haven tucked near Thailand’s southern border near Malaysia, felt like my secret escape. Sunset views and sunrise wonders at Sunset Beach etched unforgettable moments in this tropical oasis.
Ko Wai – The Secluded Gem
My boat journey continued to Ko Wai, a crescent-shaped paradise south of Ko Chang. Scenic beaches, pristine coral reefs, and the absence of villages or roads created a haven of tranquillity. I marvelled at small picturesque beaches and the magic of an untouched island, a perfect spot for anglers and day-trippers seeking pure serenity.
Koh Kradan – Tranquil Horizons
Next up, Koh Kradan, nestled in the Had Chao Mai National Park. The stunning 1.5-kilometre Paradise Beach with turquoise waters and a secluded Sunset Beach via a jungle trail felt like my personal retreat. Away from crowds, this picturesque haven offered a peaceful escape under the Thai sun.
Ko Muk – Mysteries of the Emerald Cave
Diving into Koh Muk’s allure, I discovered its unspoiled beaches and lush jungles. The enchanting Emerald Cave, accessible through a mysterious swim, revealed a pristine emerald lagoon and a secluded dream beach. Sivalai Beach, surrounded by palm trees and charming villages, provided a serene retreat in this undiscovered paradise.
Koh Nang Yuan – Trio of Tranquility
The trio of picturesque islets in the Ko Pha-Ngan District, Koh Nang Yuan, offered pristine sandy shores and crystal-clear waters. Managed by the Nangyuan Island Dive Resort, this tropical haven became my underwater wonderland. Exploring vibrant coral reefs, hidden caves, and majestic rock formations, Koh Nang Yuan felt like a tranquil escape.
Ko Lanta – Laid-Back Serenity
Koh Lanta, the largest island in Krabi, became my haven of secluded beaches, azure waters, and lush rainforests. From Long Beach to Klong Khong and Klong Nin Beach, the laid-back vibe embraced me. Exploring the well-preserved Old Town and venturing into Mu Koh Lanta National Park completed my unforgettable escape.
Ko Mak – Timeless Beauty Unveiled
Dreaming of a tiny island where time stands still, I discovered Ko Mak, nestled between Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Exploring on a scooter or bicycle, ivory beaches surrounded by crystal-clear seas, and the charm of Koh Rayang became my reality. Ko Mak was an untouched slice of paradise, a dream come true.
Ko Hong – Krabi’s Hidden Emerald
The emerald gem in Krabi’s sea, Koh Hong, nestled between Koh Yao Noi and Krabi, felt like a secret haven. Two enclosed beaches, a bay reminiscent of Maya Bay, and enchanting coral reefs became my playground. Clear shallow waters, Pilae Beach, and the challenging ascent to Koh Hong Viewpoint rewarded my intrepid exploration.
Koh Samet – Romance of the Cajeput Tree Island
Koh Samet, boasting 14 idyllic beaches with powdery sand and crystal-clear waters, became my romantic retreat. Unwinding in beachfront accommodations, exploring Wat Koh Samet temple, encountering the magical Phi Suea Samut, and savouring breathtaking sunsets at Cape Laem Toei – every moment felt like a dream.
Ko Kut – Nature’s Best-Kept Secret
Known as Thailand’s best-kept secret, Ko Kut thrived on fishing, agriculture, and eco-friendly tourism. Deserted roads perfect for scooter exploration, pristine beaches, and an unfinished super-luxury resort welcomed me. Ko Kut promised tranquillity, crystal-clear waters, and a paradise waiting to be explored.
Similan Islands – Archipelago of Wild Beauty
Nestled off the West Coast of Southern Thailand, the Similan Islands, with their crystal-clear waters and exciting rock formations, became my haven. Diving and snorkelling, relaxation on pristine beaches, and exploration of panoramic viewpoints offered a wilderness escape like no other.
Ko Surin Nuea – Untouched Jewel in the Andaman Sea
Sailing to the untouched Ko Surin Nuea, a jewel within the Mu Koh Surin National Park, felt like stepping into a hidden paradise. An archipelago of five islands promised excellent diving, snorkelling, hiking, and game-fishing experiences. Encountering the indigenous Moken community, snorkelling in turquoise waters, and marvelling at unspoiled reefs made Ko Surin Nuea an unforgettable adventure.
